During 2013, the ranch house at Wason Ranch was completely restored, taking it back as closely as possible to its original condition but with updated appliances and facilities.

As this process took place, many items and newspaper articles were uncovered verifying that the house was built in the early 1880's. Painted floors were sanded to reveal beautiful wood flooring, many layers of wall paper were removed from the original log structure of the house. Much care and consideration was taken to assure that the spirit(s) of the original house was maintained.

The house is available for rental on a limited basis from May 15 to September 30. The rental rate is $450 per night plus tax for up to a maximum of 8 persons. There is a three-night minimum stay required. The house has 5 bedrooms and 2 baths. Pets are not allowed.

Available for rental on a limited basis are log cottages overlooking the Rio Grande River. These cottages have three bedrooms, two baths and are comfortably furnished.  Kitchens are fully equipped with microwaves and dishwashers and the cottages are heated with electric baseboard heat. Wood-burning fireplaces and satellite television are also included.

 

There is a three-night minimum stay required at a rate of $325 plus tax per night.  Rates are based on 1-6 adults.

 

There is an additional charge of $15.00 each per night for the seventh and eighth person if the cottage can accommodate additional guests.  Children under the age of 2 stay free.

These are our cabins

The small cabins on Wason Ranch have a long history, dating back over 110 years.  The buildings are in their original configuration, although modernized over the years from wood-burning cook stoves and no indoor plumbing to more modern conveniences today.  Although the cabins are no longer rented to the public, they are being well maintained and cared for by current owners of the ranch and are used for friends and family. 

 

In addition, the ranch gladly offers the cabins for use by the group Project Healing Waters. These are wounded warriors who come to the ranch for several days of fly fishing each fall.

 

Intensive maintenance required for these 110 year old structures dictates that we no longer rent the cabins to the public.

 

 

 

 

 

 

All guests agree to abide by the laws of the State of Colorado.

Use of firearms is prohibited on Ranch Property.

Use of fireworks is prohibited on Ranch Property.

Use of Atv's, motorcycles and snowmobiles is prohibited on Ranch Property.

Parking of ATV's is prohibited on Ranch Property.

No pets are allowed on Ranch Property.

Please limit driving of vehicles to established roadways. Our roadways were planned to allow adequate access to the river and are intended to assure provacy for cottage owners and guests.
